Good evening from Russia!! Today started pretty early with our docking in Kuzino, a small town about 8 hours from Moscow (by train). Part of the cultural program was to visit a local school in the nearby town of Kirillov. Since it was Saturday, there were not too many students hanging around, only those giving the tours. Our school tour was given by Katya, an 11the grade student. Her English was amazing, she not only gave the tour but was able to answer ...

This morning we paid a visit to village of Kirillo named after St Kirillo (St Cyril). First, we went to see a school where we were shown around by a young girl who answered questions about the school. As it was Sunday, the school was not operating so we didn't get the chance to see classes or how the children behaved. We sat ...

The songs have been stirring traditional songs or marching tunes until just now when they played something that sounded like a cross between ABBA and a country and western ...

... Vodka (on their second bottle) and as they served us a piece of pizza, they filled our shot glasses with about 3/4 of an ouce of vodka and made a toast to Sochi. It was actually very smooth going down. As one who doesn't do shots, I expected a bit of a burn or a gasp, but none of that. The pizza was quite good, just cheese and crust but some different cheese than we use and tasty. They refilled the shot glasses despite ...

Had lunch on the grounds (chicken or beef slices with pickles, veggies and sauces on thin slices os white bread toasted---yum tasty). Then off to Canada house to watch events on TV and to be fed again before heading to ice dance short ...
