... 60 meters high from lake level and advancing 2 meters a day. The impressive sound of chunks breaking off and tumbling into the lake, causing big waves. The transparant blue color, borrowed from the sky until it sinks into the milky grey water of the lake. The heat of the sun melts the icy peaks so quickly that we can actually see them change shape during the day. We spend several hours looking, walking, listening and taking pictures. ... the top I'm not the only one! By the day of our flight out I was ready to leave. Unlike the places we had been in Chile I had no desire to stay longer. The overt tourism of the town had left me feeling a little flat, and aside from the ice spectacular and pockets of family business life we had experienced I didn't feel a connection to the place. Maybe it was the knowledge I was one flight away from my next penguin encounter but as we headed to the airport I didn't look ...

Tonight we cook pasta, expertly prepared by myself.

Last night we decided we must figure out what we are doing next, so the first thing we do in the morning is we go to the bus station to find out if there are any buses going to El Chalten on the first. It is kind of a catch 22 situation. If we buy the bus ticket first, we won’t ...
