Dixon is on the Rock River and is also where Ronald Reagan grew up. The town has a nice set of trails along both sides of the river for bikes and walking. ... to see Balancing Rock and Devils Doorway. The entire hike up and back down are rocks laid in place to make steps. Once on top....after a lot of steps...you walk along the top and have the most amazing views. Devils gate was the best. The rocks are just balancing on top of each other. ... it's horn. The fog in the air made the spotlight cut through and look really cool. At about 2AM some rowdy, possibly drunk, guys drove through the park and screamed "WAKE UP!" followed by a few rooster crows in my direction. They were hanging out by the riverside for a while and I woke to the loud echoing of a shotgun blast into the river. They didn't stay long after that, thankfully.
