We arrived in San Fran early Friday morning and eager to explore we headed for food in Chinatown which was amazing. We then explored North Beach where we wondered round the charismatic streets climbing the cities many exhausting hills to reach Coit Tower which gives fantastic panoramic views of the city. We then decided to soak up the atmosphere by sampling the areas many bars which were all offering happy hour. ...
... Fisherman's Wharf to return the bike. At one point I must have taken a wrong turn and went off road, then ended up having to carry the bike up steps!
There are dedicated bike lanes on a lot of the roads, and car drivers are very respectful of cyclists. There are also lots of stop signs and I was never sure who had right of way, but I managed not to get run over.
I raced back to the hotel for a shower then back ...
Today we decided to start our hop on hop off bus tour with City Sightseeing. we soon realised that as much as San Francisco is a beautiful city and in the afternoons it felt like a gorgeous summers day - the mornings we grey and cold and you do need to dress warm - first piece of advice right there - especially if you are on an open top bus.

... town called Sausalito, where we would catch a ferry back. Sausalito is clearly one of the more exclusive parts of the city and its luxurious houses don't come cheap (a bit like the food and drink in the shops). We only had to stay for an hour so before getting the boat back to the Ferry Building and cycling back to the bike rental shop.
