    ... past natural springs, caves and waterfalls. One of the waterfalls required a 5 to 10 minute climb up stairs but was worth the effort. On the return path we sat for a performance of a traditional tribal wedding ceremony.

    Our return journey from the morning excursion was by ferry as we caught up with the Katarina cruise ship further upstream. After lunch we had an afternoon excursion of the Three Gorges Dam Project.

    The stop in this port was to visit the elementary school that is supported by donations from Viking and it's customers. We brought small solar calculators, pencils and erasers for the children.     Stayed by the side of a hotel last night - was very hot when we arrived - but gave me time to dry out the side locker, and also hang out my washing I have been trying to get dry the last few days. A swimming pool in the basement of the hotel - a children's swimming lesson going on when I went in. They very proudly announced that the water was heated but felt very cool after the heat of the day. ...
