The night before
School's out, work is on pause and the cottage industry is closed for Christmas. It's finally here after months of waiting and we're all beside ourselves with excitement.
The bags are packed (with space to spare thanks to Annette's frugal choice of clothes) and we have even managed to find room for Ellie much to Esther's relief.
We've got so many exciting new experiences ahead of us crammed into a 7 week trip. South East Asia here we come!

Morning of NY
Now on the way to Manchester Airport in a big taxi! Very unsettled after a strange nights sleep, waking up hoping I haven't missed the taxi. Little Mix were at the Dog and Partridge pub in my dream, tried to get a picture but my phone was broken. After trying to assure the little beauties in front of me that my camera phone will work, and my wife has to see a picture, they politely said they needed to go. Easy day =)

We must have walked about an hour or so, and since it was Uncle Daves golf day we went back home to relax for a little while. I ended up curling up on the couch, watching "You've got mail" while I booked my train/ hostels for Scotland. I also met Emily (Ians wife, aka Aunty Edith and Uncle Daves eldest sons wife....lol), since she popped by the house quickly to say hello.

Half term break = PACKED TRAINS
... a city because it doesn't have a Cathedral). Well its not actually that tiny, but it is in fact really charming. Because it was Sunday, basically everything is closed (this is starting to be a trend for Sundays that I do not care for). We ended up in a cafe along the high street, for a quick coffee before I had to take the train to Liverpool.

Nearly there
We have finally made all the preparation for the trip. Caravan is sorted out with a new battery and extra lights for the kitchen area. Tomorrow we will take most of the clothes we have and store them away in our new drawers and cupboards. Supplies of food are on board, wine to follow.
Al the bits and pieces work but we haven't got the gas heater to work, nor the fridge on gas, but we are not expecting to use them so they can wait. The fridge works well ...
