Great morning again, another walk another different route thanks to map boy, this time ending up on the Queens walk along the Thames across from the HMS Belfast. We walked to The Shard, about 20 minutes away and definitely worth the visit. See the photos, but 360 views, some great interactive telescopes and another sunny day all made for a great …

The Lake District & Beatrix Potter

A travel blog entry by kyliep on Nov 01, 2014

We woke to a cloudy day today. The main place we wanted to visit was Hill Top, which was Beatrix Potter's home when she first moved from London. She used the earnings from her first couple of books to buy the property. When she died she requested that no one live in the property and that everything be left as it was. She also wrote a list of things she wanted left on display in ...

      The Long Drive North

A travel blog entry by kyliep on Oct 31, 2014

It has one of the largest private art collections, and the gardens are amazing. ...

... and the Pleasure Beach plus a top rated sit down chip shop. This made striking a few things off the list fairly easy. Moorbank House was also a good choice as for 141 for three nights we got a clean, fresh (but compact) room and a stonking breakfast that set us up for the day ahead. Another good find, based on a recommendation, was the Beach House Bistro located close to The North Pier. It was a place so un-Blackpool like that it seemed like an oasis of ...

      Rotary in Lancashire

I came to Lancashire this October to join an ICFR Rally. The International Caravanning Fellowship of Rotarians is a rather pompous title for a nice group of people who are members of the Rotary Club and who own caravans and motorhomes. ICFR holds Rallies throughout the year, each one lasting for around 5 days and I have booked myself on three which run back to back throughout October.

The first Rally was based on a small caravan site ...
