... Studenten zu unternehmen. Außerdem ist unsere Vorlesungsreihe so gut angekommen, dass einige von uns in der letzten Woche nun auch noch ein weiteres Fach lehren werden.

Und dann beginnt nächsten Sonntag unsere letzte große Reise in China: Erst verbringen wir einige Tageam Strand der tropischen Insel Hainan, anschließend bereisen wir noch Hong Kong.

... We saw the aftermath of the first car accident we had seen on this trip. It was a fender bender involving two cars and was surrounded by a mob of people who all seemed to be telling their story to the police at the same time. Isn't it surprising that a small car accident could immediately attract a crowd, but no one noticed a baby being left alone on the street? Where were all the witnesses that day?

... Taiyuan City has 3.5 million people and is slated to double in size in the next 5 to 7 years. I have never seen such a large number of tall skyscraper apartment buildings before in my life. Imagine if you would that all of the tall buildings in Chicago were not offices, but ALL Apartments. That, and more, is what we saw in Taiyuan. With that being the living arrangement for everyone, the public park is a real focus point for getting together with others ...

... smile too – The perky pigtails were falling apart. Yep, from tight against her head, the ties had slipped 2 ½ inches and the Hello Kitty clips were on the verge of being lost. I could have hugged each of my boys right then and there but instead I started my plan. I would have my moment with her the next morning, and I would have the whole night to plot it out.
