... they were in fact, actual fossils I got the feeling these were as fake as the Xi An warriors. I don't understand why archeologists would leave all thse fossils half buried in the ground. Don't they want to make minute measurements of everything they find? Did they already do that and then put them back in the ground half covered? It all seemed fishy to me again. But still, it was cool to see th extent that someone would go to achieve immortality, when money was no object.

The manager said he understood and gave me back my money. He also offered to pay the 10 yuan for the bus back to my hotel. I didn't argue.

When I got back, my clothes were still soaked and I was invited to lunch even after I had checked out.

I asked my next host, Judy, if I could come over early and she said no problem! After four buses and eight hours, I was back in the ...

          Sunday 28th June

We began the day with a wonderful buffet breakfast and met our Cruise Director, Darby, from the United States. He welcomed us and gave us a run down of the on board facilities and today's events.

At 8.00 am we left with a large group of fellow passengers for the additional 'tribe of the three Gorges' tour in Xiling Gorge. It is the first large scale folk customs tourist area in China. The focus is on ...

The stop in this port was to visit the elementary school that is supported by donations from Viking and it's customers. We brought small solar calculators, pencils and erasers for the children. Keith went to the school. Carol stayed on the ship as her knee was painful and there were a lot of steps to navigate at the port. Keith ...
