    ... t racing the day we went, it was more of just a show, with lots of different boats going up and down the river at various times, but it was still good to watch.

    ... no AC. For me, it was the demands of Mastery Learning with a heavy curriculum and the constant extras added on. I grew very fond of my class, though, and they made everything worthwhile :)

    There seemed to be something going on most evenings the last couple of weeks but happily, we didn’t have to attend them all – high school science fair, prom, graduation, middle & high school night, school concert ...

    ... me doing an individual oral exam with all 450 of my students. I've had 3 open lessons this week with Grade 4 and Grade 1, which involves the parents watching - I was nervous beforehand but they were just like normal lessons really! The students for the most part have been doing well in the test so I'm happy.
    The weekend just gone was nice and chilled. Friday night we introduced Andreas and Mikkel to Mean Girls, which I think they enjoyed. Saturday I went on ...

    ... a couple of days in Munich and then fly to Halifax where we’ll visit for a few days before returning to the Island. We’ve very excited about the Rhine River cruise – it’s been on my “bucket list” for a long time.     ... last Saturday when there was a break in the weather, but, on the way home, the skies opened again. Luckily we were able to deke into a coffee shop and had a delightful milk tea as we waited. We’ve had a couple of storms during the day and that has been interesting. Two of the big ceiling tiles in my room collapsed under the weight of the water leaking in, so there was water everywhere and yes, it was during class. Now I just have 3 buckets ...
