      ... was closed there. We couldn't even take a tour of anything. We saw beautiful apple trees of every variety. We were on Hwy 12 into the Cascade Mountains. We ended up at Cascade Cove RV park. Definitely one of the worst we have experienced on our trip.

      ... miles. It goes from rich green forests to open desert plains, to rugged mountains to rolling hills with boulders and deep ravines filled with shallow rivers. There were miles and miles of barley and wheat fields. We crossed the continental divide at an elevation of 6393. At that elevation, you can only imagine driving our rigs up and down these roads. Up we maxed out at 36 mph, and coming down the signs warn of overturned trucks and offer runaway ramps. ...

      ... used to be . . . there were two new stadiums (one football and one baseball) built sort of across the large parking lot from the old locale . . . but now there are some other office buildings going up . . . lots of tower cranes about!!

      We got the bags checked in for red cap delivery to our sleeping room on the train . . . so I decided to check out the lunch options. There was some painting going on outside the entrance to FX McRory's . . . so I wasn't sure ...
