The trip started out with a runny nose (thank god for dayquil) and even runnier weather. The rain was pouring and accurately reflected my mood. If I hadn't of run out of tears, I don't think I could have started the drive on time. Not exactly how I imagined my final departure. The Swinging Bridge

This trail was a bit longer with a few more ups and downs. Eventually we got to the swinging bridge and it was basically a slim wooden bridge that traversed the water about 50ft or so above. It was supported by lots of rope and steel cables so it looked pretty sturdy.

    Until then...

... pace across this washboard field, about a 15 degree downhill picking up speed as he went across, trying his level best to keep the rubber down and to stop before the trees. He was unsuccessful! With too much speed to scrub Tristan went off into the trees, endo'd and came to rest having taken out a sign. With little more hurt than his pride, we ventured on down the mountain after collecting ourselves. Moving along at a brisk pace was fun. That fun became ...

We left my great aunt Mary's after a wonderful breakfast, hopped on the ferry off the island on our way East. We decided to drive all the way across the great state of Washington, and planned to find a campground near Spokane. It was about a six hour drive that day, and once we were through the mountains there was not a whole lot of beautiful scenery. It was flat. It was still a gorgeous ...
