After our weeks in Vietnam, arriving in Kuala Lumpur was a shock to our systems - first of all, the airport was ridiculously easy to navigate, and once outside, we were greeted with hot weather (yes, we meet again!) and McDonalds and A&W and real highways with lanes and nice cars. It's the first full day in Kuala Lumpur! Michelle has a busy day planned at work, but luckily they do not start work until 10:00am. Woke up bright and early at 4:00am (a little rough on a relaxing island!) for an hour taxi ride to the Phuket airport. When we got to the airport we found out from the ticket clerk that our bags were 20 kg over the max limit for two people. She asked us if we were flying first-class and we said no. But unaware to us, she upgraded us for free and didn't charge us for the extra 20 kg of luggage weight! Our first-class luxury seats sure were nice, even if just for an hour plane ride to Bangkok!...

The best thing (really the only tourist thing!) to see in KL is the famous Petronas Twin Towers. They are 452 m (1,483 ft), making them the second tallest buildings in the world, surpassed by Taipei 101 in Taipei, Taiwan. However, the towers are the world's tallest "twin towers"; very impressive to see towering over the city!
