      ... a ferry from Beihai Ferry Terminal to Hainan and Weizhou Islands, worth of visit. You can also take a bus (about 40 min) to Hepu and have a look at the newly excavated graves of the Han dynasty there, including a beautifully restored temple.

      ... groom’s sister who just had a baby girl was not invited for the wedding ceremony as that could bring a bad luck to the couple (and in this case ‘bad luck’ will mean to have a first girl and not a boy).       ... change all of it. Fab! After this he took me to the bus station so I could book my ticket. Then I asked if he could drop me somewhere for dumplings as that felt like an appropriate last meal! After food we returned back to the hostel, where I read, packed and pottered about until bed.       ... up some fruit and nuts on the way back. I ended up having dinner with the people who live/work here, which was lovely. Tried some speciality dish from north china that was amazing - potatoes, aubergines and peppers, whats not to like!       After having hardly slept on the ferry and being travelling for 24hours we were just looking for a bed. Anything but as soon as possible.
