It is not even the weekend yet but things are in full swing when we head back to the Spanish Steps. It is wall to wall people having a good time. As we had a late lunch we are not ready to eat yet so we explore a little further from the hotel (it is surprising how far you can walk when you are window shopping) but we have now learnt to carry a map. We find a likely spot for dinner and sit down to relax, we are in Rome!

Met up with work colleague who is in Europe on holiday. Great to see her and catch-up on news from Chch. Did guided tour of Colloseum, Palatine hill & Forum. Met up at end of afternoon with one of our guides from afternoon for walking tour from end of Forum, over to Island, under church to see how new built on top of old, through Jewish quarter to Navona fountain with various sights on the way. This is how much information and history is in Rome. Have your camera out and ready and keep your head on swivel. Keep an extra storage cartridge and battery for your
camera. It’s that much history, but so worth it that we have decided we are going to come back and stay a week with a tour guide.
