... and I felt sick cos they were serving pigs intestine and trotters, so what did I have? Two fried eggs. Couldn't get any toast though. Then the skies opened and you should have seen the rain. Cooled the place down though.
So Singapore was all right but nothing exciting - though they do do Christmas and I got a dress for 2.50. What was funny though, the first morning the bloody phone rang so loud and while I was trying to ...
... decisions up to our hosts, both of whom have lived in Singapore for 10+ years. Our destination was a hip downtown district that was packed on both sides of the river running through it. Raj chose a fantastic seafood establishment and we feasted on chili crab (one of Singapore's signature dishes), pepper crab, and garlic prawns....along with noodles and fried buns (much better than steamed buns).....without question the best ...
Singapore, Singapore deeptiandronIt's cool to go to a place and know nothing about it, because then there are no expectations.
Other than its location, I knew nothing about Singapore before arriving, and even still, it took me completely by surprise. Singapore has been a perfect intro into Asia in some ways, because it is such a cultural mix. Singapore is made up of mostly Chinese people, followed closely by Indian people and people from Malaysia. Therefore, the food, culture, religions, etc ...
... the shopping hub for SouthEast Asia you know, so wherever you go, there is shopping available. Orchard Road was lined with mall after mall after mall. It had all of the most expensive name brands over and over and over again. We managed to hit up every Nike store available until Kevin finally made a t-shirt purchase. For lunch we found a grocery store and bought buns, sausage and a hunk of cheese and made our own sandwiches for lunch. They ...

If you never hear from us again, you can assume it is because we simply cannot leave the family of mini-elephants we find and now live peacefully with deep in the River Jungle, where they'll protect us from leeches and vipers.
... 3 nights. The "Tresor Tavern" has very nice staff, a place very clean where you feel at ease quickly. The rooms are a bit dark and the air conditioner is an early bird (5am and it already blows like mad) but up to now, everything is OK. We dine in a chinese "restaurant" where we order dishes we ...

Singapore is a great city – another one we would consider living in. If you can cope with the retail overload there is so much to see and do a very, very nice city!
Here are the Photos.

It was the same price to fly from Chicago to Bangkok as it was to fly from Chicago to Singapore to Thailand. Great let's go to Singapore! Bangkok had just built a brand new airport and I read SEVERAL horror stories of people getting arrested, horrible facilities and stolen luggage. So instead of dealing with that, I saw that Tiger Airways flew from Singapore to Chiang Mai. i assumed that would mean small immigration lines and no hassles. I was right.
We(being moi!)left Kumai on October 14th in company with Geoff, Sarah and Jade, Java and Kitale off Calypso JJ. Geoff had graciously agreed to sail with me as I was single handing it to Singapore. Our first objective was to sail to Pulau Nangka a distance of 235nm, deciding to give Belitung a miss as we preferred to explore this small island. Naturally this was an overnight trip. At nightfall I quickly started to fall into a routine which called for starting to ...
