... Shanghai museum. Free, now that's a word Pete likes to hear. Well, you get what you pay for ~ if your interested in pottery, coins, calligraphy, furniture, brassery or seals then this is your place. Now, we have started to notice people are staring at me. I'm unsure if they think I'm Anne Hathaway or just a tall white girl with big boobs is fascinating - but I tell you, they are staring at me...! ... found out that is where the history museum is (the lonely planet guide said it was free, it wasn't- it didn't break the bank though, £8 for the two of us). Before we went into the museum, Paul got a sandwich and I had a can of coke which, after we'd paid, we found out cost £2!!! Ouch!! ... to the city centre by myself before and I had to be there for 9am to meet Hua. Having spoken to the other teachers in my office to get directions and bus/train times I felt quite confident when setting my alarm for 5.30am the next day. In terms of teaching abroad, Shanghai is in the unhappy position of following South Korea therefore it's probably only natural that I should make comparisons between the two.
