Just about finished my time in Koh Phanang. Yesterday I took my scooter back...Ron was very relieved - according to him, the news has been full of stories about scooter scams and accidents in Koh Phanang (slow news days for the Ottawa Citizen?! I have one week in Chiang Mai, then I head home - looking forward to ...

We boarded our ferry, immediately going to the upper deck to get some rays. In the distance we could see that the islands were covered in a heavy rain cloud. No matter what though, we were out of Bangkok and slowly starting to unwind and relax. The islands looked absolutely beautiful! After 15 hours of travel, we finally arrived on ...

    Stormies

... villa (hut) at the private beach end of the bay, settled in nicely next to Alan, the Aussie diving enthusiast.

First arvo paddle, found out many many rocks (later to find actually a pretty cool coral reef). Trapped at end of beach when the mother of all storms hit. Drizzle first, people scuttle in and we chuckle at those losers! It's a just a bit of rain! Then, gale force winds hit with horizontal rain that strikes like hail. We nearly died ...
