I also found some carpets and quilts but eventually decided not to buy anything since I needed money to return home and for an inn at night. I sadly left the store and continued walking around until about sunset. I found an inn shortly after and using some hand signals to the hotel attendant, was able ...

Knowing it was Thanksgiving, the family cooked a meal of tandoor butter chicken and fresh fish, accompanied by a batch ...

People move here from all over India to set up factories or to work here, making it an interesting mix. While the locals are used it, us outsiders found the air to thick with a chemically smell. There's a haze, too that I've never experienced before. I could write about my less-than-24-hours in this place all day with its ...

After spending a week submerged in the local culture ever since my ship stopped here, I thought it was time to write down the astonishing sights of Gujarat. This is the end of the line for many traders from Asia who only traverse the first leg of the trade route. That being said, a great deal of goods from Asia are traded for goods from Africa. The Junk I arrived on unloaded for the first few days and turned out to be full of valuable goods, gold, and silver. A ...
