people at these sites, freezing just like us, who we made friends
with (even if one couple were in an 'escape van' which created a bit
of a 'we can't be that crazy if someone else is camping here now too'

The tour guide however, took advantage of the fact that their English wasn't great and told one of them that they were small enough to be a hobbit. Absolutely brilliant. Anyway, we had a beer in the Green Dragon replica and a nice chilled afternoon. Really nice. When we got back, we drove to a place called Pridaux, and stayed at a campsite there. Not the nicest place I've ever been, due to a constant eggy smell ...
... bed. On Saturday we drove to Taupo on a different bus so met some new people. We went for a walk in the Red Wood forest for about an hour and saw some lovely views, including a gyser! We then had to quickly check in to our hostel as our limousine was waiting to take us skydiving! We were all pooing ourselves, especially Beth! After getting all geared up and ready we got on the plane and flew to 15,000 ft where we jumped! Nicola jumped first, then Jen and then Beth! ...
... the water from downtown Auckland. We spend a pleasant hour or two wandering around.
And suddenly our time in New Zealand is at an end and we need to make our way to the airport for our long flight to our next port of call. We've certainly enjoyed our time here and the last month has gone very quickly.
The end of our trip around the World (or will it be There And Back Again?) is not too far away now but first we're going to drop in on Uncle Sam and see how he's getting ...
... the time and ate at a habachi restaurant downstairs. Amy tried some new things (edamame and saki). We caught up over dinner and at the end the chef cooked an egg and then threw pieces to us on a spatula to catch in our mouths? We just went with it....
This morning we checked out of the hotel and walked towards the harbor. Along the way we saw a guy bungee off the sky tower (crazy!!). We took the ferry to Devenport - about 15 minutes across from Auckland. The views ...
