Really nice and close to sky tower, only 5 minutes to walk to the harbour. No lift and we were on top floor it was fine for what we needed.

          Staff very friendly.

Small room and bath but good location and friendly staff. Room offered all we needed. It is not brand new but still in acceptable condition. Location is central and in walking distance to a lot of restaurants, bars and a supermarket. We would stay here again.

We got to see (really close up) Saturn, a dying star, a newly born star (still 3 or 4 million years old!) and a huge cloud of dust and gas (i.e. a nebula). In between looking down the lens, I saw about 10 shooting stars. I think I had my mouth open with child-like wonder every time we were shown or told ...

Arrived in Auckland apparently at 4.30am, I was completely confused as to what day and time it actually was!!! After having a 13 hour flight and a 15 hour time difference! First port of call was waiting till 8am to collect the hire car for the next five days. So I had the best coffee since leaving home used the free wifi and had a nap! First time driving in six months and the first ...

Luckily our poor little mayonnaise was unhurt, we just didn't have a bag anymore and so it went in Colm's back pocket for the ride. The walk to the top was lovely as we took our time, taking in all of the views. We reached around two thirds of the way up and saw a few benches where we do the whole of Auckland ...

... much until the last couple of minutes when we pass all the important government buildings. Rain puddles in the road. Warm and humid. Up a steep hill with the lights of the town below us. A cosy little cabin in the garden. We can't see much in the dark but the main bungalow looks quite smart. A dog and six new puppies in a corner of the garden. We were show around and given a bit of info. Make tea, relax and go to sleep towards one ...
