Shahpura House has great service, great rooms, wonderful breakfast, roof top restaurant. A house with history and helpful team. After a crazy day in the Pink City I love to sit near the pool, or sit on my balcony like a Maharani.

A Palace just for you in all the Noise

I fell in love with the place on arrival. Imaculate first class service, welcoming. Though I booked a room with a view sort of speak. Due to a techincal problem the room I should have got was not availble. I was given a little room for one night. Working in hotels and the industry I know it can happen that mechanic and issue can happen.. The next day I was put into a beautiful room that were my favourite colours.. I felt like a Maharani. Everyone went beyond and above helpful. ...My laptop crashed and they kindly tried to repair it. Like most places in India there are crowds, people noise.. which is okay but I w anted to come back to a little quite heaven.. and it was here. The details of the art work, flowers, rooms is just perfect. The pool area is beautiful with a mesh covering it against pigeons. Eric who will great you was very attentive..... I looked foward every evening to relaxing in my room, near the pool and in the restaurant upstairs or just in my lovely bathtub with bubbles.. Can"t wait to get back again

The Last of the time in India

Day 71: We have all lost the will to survive. We believe Nicole has gone crazy and Jim looks like he is plotting something.

But to be honest, we have seen some incredible things and enjoyed our time traveling over the last 2 weeks, but we are ready to go home. As much home as a steady location. It is incredibly hard to travel in India and you must constantly be alert which can be difficult. But I will stop complaining ...

... It's only barely 8pm, but I can hardly keep my eyes open. There is so much to see and experience that it literally wears me out just trying to absorb it all. Until tomorrow. Snippets: + Cows laying in piles of trash on the sides of roads. + Exhaust from a bus billowing into the rickshaw on the way to school. + Children in threadbare clothes. + Camel sleeping on the side of the road. + Delicious smelling street ...

After some wait, with lots of stupid staring people stopping right in front of you to just STARE! An angry Maia-Beth was just about to punch all of them in their faces, and walk away angry (believe me, she was THAT close to ...

Day 9 Jaipur This morning at 8am we had to be breakfasted and ready to meet today's guide known as Mr Singh. A very nice man but it took a lot of concentration to follow what he was saying! We drove about 6 miles north of the city to visit the Amber Fort Palace built in 1592. This used to be the main Palace of the Maharajahs, til the population of the town got too big and the new city of Jaipur was established. We had an elephant ride up to ...
