Shahpura House has great service, great rooms, wonderful breakfast, roof top restaurant. A house with history and helpful team. After a crazy day in the Pink City I love to sit near the pool, or sit on my balcony like a Maharani.

A Palace just for you in all the Noise

I fell in love with the place on arrival. Imaculate first class service, welcoming. Though I booked a room with a view sort of speak. Due to a techincal problem the room I should have got was not availble. I was given a little room for one night. Working in hotels and the industry I know it can happen that mechanic and issue can happen.. The next day I was put into a beautiful room that were my favourite colours.. I felt like a Maharani. Everyone went beyond and above helpful. ...My laptop crashed and they kindly tried to repair it. Like most places in India there are crowds, people noise.. which is okay but I w anted to come back to a little quite heaven.. and it was here. The details of the art work, flowers, rooms is just perfect. The pool area is beautiful with a mesh covering it against pigeons. Eric who will great you was very attentive..... I looked foward every evening to relaxing in my room, near the pool and in the restaurant upstairs or just in my lovely bathtub with bubbles.. Can"t wait to get back again

... or two above the water and the lake itself had only a mild current flowing into the next lake so it didn’t seem dangerous at all. As police and locals began to gather we were told we couldn’t be in the area and went to leave but saw some foreigners swimming in the next lake on the other side. We hadn’t really swallowed or fully believed what was going on, therefore we attempted to put aside what we just heard and drive around the lake to get in for a quick dip. ...

... out! We had our old flat mate Phil from Auckland and his friend Dan also from NZ meeting us the next day so we had a few plans in action. Liam and I had a cooking course to go to the next morning but due to some confusion about emails we ended up going on that the following day so we had a whole day to explore the city and Amber fort before the boys arrived that night. Amber fort is a massive fort that surrounded by dry dusty clay hills - it's quite desert like. The fort itself is 11kms ...

... in a dry climate, the pits took on a religious significance, and as such one side of the well had been built with a series of temple structures. Also, a temple had been built beside the well, which we were convinced had been destroyed as some point in its history and randomly reassembled from the heap of stones. Judging by the pile of unused stones surrounding the temple, the original structure must have been much larger than it is now.

... Perhaps he was the cause of the loud gunshots the evening before? As it turned out, he was. The armed man was taking warning pot shots above the monkeys surrounding the fence line of the hotel. Having being swamped by naughty monkeys at the Oberoi Cecil Hotel in Shimla, we could well understand why they were less than welcome at the Samode Haveli.

The trees in the grounds of the Haveli were called locally as Ashok*. We had not seen ...
