We started the morning exploring the east face of Steamboat to find the most spectacular views and some beautifully pitched runs. These new demo skis are the real deal. Love them, and decided not to switch them for our third and final day tomorrow. They make everything easy and quick to bail out of trouble in tough stuff. Of course it really depends on what you want to do, but for me, I like the lack of crowds on the mountain, unpretentious atmosphere, friendly people I’ve come to know and the natural beauty of the area. I have developed a routine over the years. I usually spend four days skiing at Steamboat and then spend three days at Vista Verde Ranch in Clark, CO ...

... was the anniversary of the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor, in case you didn't know or like me didn't remember.

First photo is from the top of the gondala looking over towards Four Points, the snakey ess trail down the middle is Twister as mention and photograhed in previous entry. On a clear day the photos are so much clearer when the top of the mountain can be seen. It's even better for skiing too.

Next photo is at the top of four ...
