The salt mine made the town of ...

We walked along the lake, then walked following the Traun ( river) up to the road that takes you to Hallstatt by car. We had a look at Winkel, just a group of houses, and found a cafe. The cafe was run but a young family with two small children who were as cute as buttons. We had a coffee then waked ...

Back from the wilderness

Today was my last day on the trek. I was kind of glad of that not only because the past week had been physically gruelling, but also I realised I was a bona fide 'city girl'. I had great respect and appreciation for mother nature but all the life skills I'd learnt so far in life help me to survive in the city, not in the wilderness. I felt incredibly alone and uneasy in the wilderness, and yet being on my own in towns or cities I ...
