... lake called Königssee, Germany's third deepest lake. We weren't super impressed though, having had to pay for parking in a very touristy area and after seeing much nicer lakes on previous drives. We then drove to Obersalzburg, where Hitler's retreat is located. We didn't go up to his retreat on the top of the mountain (had to take a bus and then an elevator in the mountain) because we were a bit short on time, but we visited the Dokumentationszentrum, a museum ...

At times the river was quite wild, with lots of white water. The last 100 meters to the falls was rather steep, but quite worth the effort.
