... instant stuff. They raised my tolerance level with all that pharmaceutical Nescafe, and now I’ll be broke if I’ve got to maintain it with expensive northern light crude, 200ml a day, straight from the wellhead, the mouth of an Italian… vintage espresso machine. It’s good, though, rich and robust. But even that’s not enough to cure traveler’s constipation. That’s the bad part about night ...
Paris, Île-de-France, France hardiek... of walking. It was worth it, but our little feet are hurting. Then we came back here to chill and went out again for dinner and to see the Eiffel Tower at night. Got pasta and pizza, so good, and took the metro to the tower. Saw it light up all beautifully at 11 p.m. Paris time and took lots of pictures. Obviously I got ice cream. Came back to the hostel, which was 1,000 degrees due again to the lack of ac.
Tomorrow we're going inside Notre Dame and ...
... the Arc De Triomphe. Wow an impressive structure - I can see why Napoleon had it built - I can further see why Hitler marched his rampaging armies through the Arc De Triomphe in the 1940's - it is a massive imposing structure, with a tonne of tourists too - one a prize to capture - I'm sure Adolph thought so. The round-a-bout is the one out of Chevy Chase's 'European Vacation' and it is crazy - just watching the traffic for 5 mins was an experience. We walked down ...
Paris, Île-de-France, France masonsineuropeThe word has come from the north. A Gathering of Druids, Elves & pixies in a castle somewhere near Hanover, in the Germanic lands. I had no doubt, I must be there. For too long I have watched the gray melted rock beneath, the gray buildings surrounding, the metal horses buzzing around in their frenzy - and above, to make things worse - the sky, all so gray, hovering above like an ominous sign. I had to leave, and so ...
Paris, France carpeau... going to need to figure out how to fire up that lap top I bought from Erik Diaz just before leaving on a jet plane to Europe. Don't worry team at Box Brothers as I am breathing deep, deep in my belly- using every possible tool we have learned from Stacey to stay centered and grounded. Oh yeah, the Eiffel tower. What a magnificent use of metal! As I stood underneath this incredible landmark awaiting the sunrise, I could notice that a big balloon floated in the ...
Paris, France scottparsons... buses are accessible, but you have to find out beforehand. Once at the Louvre, we discovered that it is open every day except Xmas! It didn't matter really, as we then proceeded to walk through the Tuileries Gardens and then the whole way along the Champs Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe, which was a great experience, and took us all ...
Paris, France kennedy1... I turned this offer down. Saw a car crash and a coach full of riot police, something wrong with that city. Anyway, got to the train station and was almost instantly confronted by a girl/woman with a little card with some sob story on "I am from Bosnia, my mother is sick, I need money for food and medicine". I almost considered giving her money, when I saw about 5 others walking around with the same cards. I saw the way things would go ...
