Ghost towns, goat tracks and home among gum trees

... Perfect, we set up the camp under some gum trees that made us feel right at home, got a load of washing started and headed off to have a quick swim in the surf (which we could hear). The beach was lovely, the waves were probably about 1m at times, and the water was quite warm - but I couldn't see anyone who might have been responsible for that...

After a quick dip we headed back to the camp to cook up a feed - italian ...

... other side of the room. Sadly we had a completely broken hinge on the toilet seat AGAIN.. (No we are not breaking them- but - it is a strange run of luck two nights in a row.) It was fixed, so all good. We had the most amazing dinner...yummo. The best pasta and the best veal I have ever had. A wonderful hazelnut semifreddo... Home made Limoncello and another after dinner drink, home made with herbs which had a strong ...

    Marina di Camerota

Yesterday left Positano. We took a shuttle to Salerno then picked up a car from Avis. The coast road from Positano to Salerno was truly breathtaking and the driver quite friendly and tried to explain a few sights along the way. Stopped at Bascillicata and had a late lunch at a little pizzeria. ...

... style and looks rather menacing, as you can imagine. He has declared himself head of the Hereford branch of "The Taffia". A little misguided, perhaps, since he is under the misapprehension that if he looks hard and is a "Taffia Don", the Sicilian brothers will be impressed and leave him alone. Unfortunately, the tough image diminishes somewhat when he dons the yellow sunglasses. I have misgivings about Signor's strategy. My anxiety heightens when I'm offered a new ...

    Maratea and Sorrento

... knuckles up to see the Cristo statue above us and through the village of Maratea. The feat of building this thing where it is blows the mind and converts one's legs to jelly. I have great respect for Italian engineers - not so the kamikaze drivers.
On our drive to Sorrento we called in to Paestrum to view what remains of a 6th century Greek town with forum and agora in pretty good condition. We are in Sorrento ...
