    We had a morning tour Sue and Darren - a lovely couple who are not about religion and are well travelled and down to earth. We had a great day with them and wish now we were doing the Holy Land with them as they have a car and driver and space for two more.........     ... when we arrived at Chora we completely missed the stairs up to the monastery but had a great time wandering around this picturesque village, spotting restaurants with views for lunch and a bakery!     So we are delayed by high winds (but not bad weather) on Symi. At last we have mustered up the energy to return to the 500 steps of the Kali Strata and enjoy it at a more leisurely pace. We have also read a little more about the history. A lucrative ship building industry bought prosperity to the island in the 19th century and many gracious mansions were built along the Kali Strata all in the neo-classical style.
