    ... girls and we all head down again. After walking about 50 metres down he looks up and can see the castle walls about 50 metres away. We are so close and all,that extra uphill was not needed. We continue down looking for the turnoff to the castle. We reach the main road without finding any road that goes that way. Seems odd.     We drove to Bellagio and then took the ferry to Varrena with the intention of eating lunch then travelling on to Piona to see an abbey. Just opposite the parking station was the Villa Monastera which has a beautiful botanic garden. We decided to look around the garden. They were lovely with an amazing array of plants from all over the world and the unexpected bonus was that the Villa was open for viewing.
