... unreal, sun is fierce and not a breath of wind. Afternoons on the balcony are the order of the day, listening to all the birds shouting at each other and arguing over bread dropped on the floor at the cafe by the lake.
Only downside is having to wait until 7 till the restaurants open. Not easy for two gluttons like us. Had a rubbish meal first night too which is enough to put us in a bad mood for about a week. Italy almost done. ...

A storm overnight has cleared the humidity and left a pleasant breeze wafting through the cottage. The Cottage - what a find, thank you Airbnb. It is very clean, well equipped for simple self catering and has a view from the tiny balcony to die for. It is located one residence back from the lake frontage and is surrounded by local residences with the Nona's and locals sitting outside in the cobblestone alcoves and chatting in the cool of last evening until well after ...

          The Cinque Terra

A travel blog entry by hayleyfc on Sep 01, 2014

... apartments and other buildings are really more of an eyesore. The cathedral of La Spezia could really be one of the ugliest, our tour guide affectionately referred to it as the wedding cake. Once we arrived in the Cinque Terra National Park we started in La Spezia. Our first experience so far with pickpockets, two women, one who appeared to have a baby, (not sure if it was a doll, or if it was a real baby drugged). The two ...
