We elected to head back to Turkey for one last look at the beautiful coast there before ending our trip in Bodrum. Captain Guner selected Orak, which is a small island just off the coast that he says is very popular in summertime. There were still several boats there that came and went during the 24 hours that we were there, plus there was an ice-cream boat that came along and sold ...

It may not sound like a tough challenge (and it isn't), but constant togetherness in a confined space (even one that's 78 feet) can create a feeling of claustrophobia after a while. But ...

... it and we call it 'footy-fying'. I went back to have a look at the lovely ring but decided to wait and look around Istanbul. The same for souvenirs and presents - we are holding out for the Grand Bazaar! Tomorrow we leave Bodrum and the girls were saying how much they would have liked a few more days. But for Ben and I it was just the right amount of time - a restful break with some regrouping, but not enough to get ...

A much needed break in Bodrum

... between the flights, but it became an anxious clock-watching exercise as our next flight began to board and we were still nowhere near the domestic airport. Happily, with only moments to spare, we made it onto the flight. Nobody felt great by the time we arrived, and whilst Bodrum looked lovely enough, the time change meant it was now late afternoon and a strong, cold wind was blowing. I did wonder what we would do if the weather was terrible for these few east days... ...
