... used to go to watch plays in an outdoor theatre type setup. Arles was quite amall so once we had spent about 4 or 5 hours walking around we had managed to see most of the town so spent some time relaxing at our hotel (which was also the scene of where our wine was drunk by a hotel maid while we were out of the room!). The next morning we set on our way towards Nice late in the morning and took a more scenic route by saying to our gps that we wanted to avoid ...

The room was private and comfortable, with its own bathroom and the home was extremely central with easy bus, tram and train service nearby. ... to Monaco (a region of the smaller than one square mile country is called Monte Carlo). Despite its small size, it is the richest country in the world mainly due to its lack of personal taxes and its incredibly profitable casino, which we got to see (adults only could enter, girls got to hang outside, more on that in a bit). In the bus, our guide, Carmen, told us some gossip about the royal families.

Finally, with the basics in order we head via bus into Nice and explore the city. I enjoyed walking through the town and people watching on the Promenade. Old Town was my favorite as it had a lot more character than the touristy feel of the Promenade. The hike to Castle Hill was great and would only have been better if it was sunny as the view from the top ...
