... towards Grenoble we got caught in a terrific hailstorm! So much for looking for sun.

After Grenoble we headed off into The mountains on the D85 - the Route Napoleon - the route Napoleon took in March 1815 after he left Elba and arrived on the south coast of France. Only we were doing the route in the ...

... tyre with a new plug. I will need a new tyre when I get home but I'm hoping this will get me there.

I then set the navi to take me via mountain roads over to Gap. It is a really stunning ride. Unlike, say, the high Alps in Austria and Switzerland, the French build quaint villages way up in the sky. Basically if it was even remotely feasible to build a road to a mountain top ...

I guess I had to let them off though considering it was Sunday and day after the game! Amy and I headed down to the markets while Jono enjoyed some more R&R. After just a short ten minute walk and we were there. There was fresh flowers and fruit and meats and seafood and tapanades and ...

Well last night I slept way better than I did the night before! Thanks god! I'm still getting up relatively early but I guess anything is compared to the French way of life. Nothing opens until 10am here, not even the cafés or gym even-it's crazy! It's easy to say that Amy and Jono will fit right in here Once they woke, Amy and I got ready for a walk from their apartment through the city, past the lake and over ...
