... views were amazing. We headed back down and stopped for lunch. We made noodles earlier on in the day, so it was a roadside picnic. After lunch we jumped back on the scooter and headed to Kuah to find a bank and supermarket. In Kuah we drove around for ages trying to find a supermarket but didn't have any luck. ... was so warm that it hardly did anything in my attempts of staying cool. Beach swims were also not refreshing as the water here is like a large bathtub sitting around 30 degrees. It's really funny. Back home we swim around the lakes looking for the warm spots and hover at the surface where the water is marginally warmer. ... The forest was quiet and really beautiful; trees/plants parasitizing each other or perfectly in symbiosis and we saw several insects and birds. I repeatedly wished that I remembered more from my first year university (biology, but I was more interested in the brain...). ... thing I have ever eaten, it was like eating the sun!) I couldn't eat it, but on our course, she said you can cool it down with a bit of coconut milk. I poked my head in the kitchen, the cook was Thai so after realising she didn't know what I was saying I used the international language of mime and signalled that my mouth was very hot and pulled a funny face. She said 'ahhh' knowingly and handed me some more chillies! I've heard of fighting fire with fire, but I don't think this will work ...
