Most traditional Malaysian houses are made of wooden, bamboo or thatched walls and are on stilts (to deal with floods), but I guess he doesn't get much flooding here.
His house is full of life - he has about 4 million cats running about and enough edible plantations to survive more than two months isolated from the world. These include coconuts, chilli beans, lemon grass, mango, a lychee-like fruit and ...
... mustien pilvien kertymista kisapaikan paalle. Ja myonnettakoon, etta toivoimme aluksi kovasti sateen alkamista, mutta tietysti sitten harmitti, kun koko kisa jai sateen takia puolitiehen. Tassa MTV3:n nettisivujen kooste kisatapahtumista: Brawn GP -tallin kuljettaja Jenson Button ajoi sunnuntaina F1-kauden toisen peräkkäisen voiton. Englantilainen saa Malesian GP:n voitostaan kuitenkin vain puolikkaat MM-pisteet, koska kisa keskeytettiin rankkasateen ...
Sepang, Selangor, Malaysia amatsinrake... asked questions. His 58 year old wife, so he said, told him four years ago that because he was still strong (ie in bed) he was free to go and find a second wife (score). He was 60. His wives were 58 and 32! His 3 year old son was soon to be the nephew to his unborn uncle (the taxi drivers first son's wife was pregnant). We both laughed at this. "My throat is dry and sore from fasting" he said, "I can't talk much more". One of the standout ...
Melaka, Malaysia martytToday was the third time I have had non verbal communication with a Buddhist monk, and I'm beginning to become curious...I'll start at the beginning. In London, the day I left to come to Asia, I was walking down tottenham court road when I heard the chanting of the Hare Krishna devotees. I walked past them, one of them looked at me square in the eye and smiled, I have never seen a stranger hold a gaze so well. So, I did what I was doing, bought some stuff then exited the shop and ...
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia buzzingtalkThere is a very good hostel in KL- very hot- but ok with a fan. The staff kindly try and put you in your own dorm room rather than filling each room up at a time and there are LOADS of rooms. It's called Red Dragon or somehthing to do with dragons and it's in China Town. China Town was the same as ever and we ambled around doing a spot of eating and shopping. The next day we booked a bus to Thailand in search of ...
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia k8andpeteArrived in KL safely after a cold bus trip from Pangkor Island - the Malay bus drivers seem to think that cryogenically freezing their passengers is the way forward! Booked in to our nice 3 star hotel just off Chinatown and decided to drop the bags and get out straight away to explore. Had a good look around Chinatown, then it was off to Jalan Sultan Ismail and around the golden triangle where all of the posh eateries and a few bars ...
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia alexandmonica... muslim families practice gift giving and have christmas dinner. i told them that my family does the same thing tho, we (majority of us) are not christian. hey, a holiday is still a holiday, gotta make the best of whats givin to you. one thing that makes great sense here and doesnt at home is that, they have huge clearance sales before christmas, the way it should be and not the other way around!
Kuala lumpur, Malaysia douglaschien... a punishing past time on ones wallet. However spirits are cheap and in abundance. We have totally dropped the beer in favour for vodka, and at 1 pound 50 a bottle we are very happy people. You seem to have to learn a secret handshake, in order to find somewhere which sells any type of spirit, Nick walked for 45 minutes before he came across a small minimart that sold a few bottles. Hope you like the pictures we've attached, we've also attached some for the Cameron Highlands entry.
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia hedwig_the_bear... to watch. Robin wanted to talk to me. He's just converted from not-so-devout Buddhist to very Christian, and wanted to tell me all the joys. I didn't mind listening, he so wanted to tell somebody and no one else here will pay any attention to him. But I began to become annoyed when he tried to convert me. No matter how many times I told him, or how many different ways I tried, or how many evasive answers I gave, he still kept on me. Badminton was over by then, so I made an excuse and retired.
Port Dickson, Malaysia ahartry... then drove to the villa to meet Chi Kong and BB (his girlfriend). After we settled, we walked down to the beach. I didn't go swimming but had a nice walk. After an hour or so, May and I went back to the bungalow. We did little until dinner -- we ate out. After we got back, we sat around and talked. At 10:30pm, drove into PD for supper. Once back, Victor, Cze Loon, May and I talked until 2am.
