1st contact with Spain.

I did´n get to see munch of Madrid exept the metro system. Went to the airport to straighten things with Air Comet/AeroMexico and then back to the train station. Quite tiring.
But Trini was so nice, a perfect host !
Leon is a nice middle-sized city with a beautifull cathedral and narrow streets typical from spain, and of course a good nightlife. I went out this night with Ruth (Trini´s daughter) and her friends, and had a great time !
I like spain, I´ll be back next year.

Not coming home

... small appetizers) from 7 pm - 9 pm and supper at 9 pm. And party afterwards until 4 in the morning. Because we walkers of the Camino start early in the morning it is difficult to fit into this lifestyle. So we have to search out a bar to fill up on tapas (which are alway tasty) or hope that a restaurant has taken pity on the travellers of the road and offers an early supper at 7 pm or 7:30 pm.

... we claim not t have sinned we make Him out to be a liar which is against his very nature. In chapter 2 he says that his purpose of writing this letter was so they would not sin as the Gnostc teaching was permitting, but if you do sin all you have to do is ask forgiveness and Jesus will go to the Father in our defense, and for the whole world. He argues that if you know Jesus then you will follow in his commands and if you don't then you are a liar. This is how ...

March 8 - First Saturday!

... seems like this is all I am going to be doing today, just sitting at my computer typing and organizing and catching up on everything I need to do. I got so sick of it for awhile that I started cleaning the apartment (except that we have only been here for a week so there was nothing really to clean). I dried all the dished and put them away, washed all the counters and tables, swept the floor (I would have mopped it but the mop doesn't have a mop head ...

... and do the dishes. It's all very communal. We also had the ol' singalong with the nuns thing again. Who could imagine getting used to something like that!! The building was made from clay and mud bricks which are a feature of this area and which help explain why everything looks like it's falling down. I was so tired though by the end of the day and the meal, that I missed out on the 9.30pm gathering to watch the sun go down ...

... bit like superheroes - superheroes who carry too much weight on their backs and walk many miles every day - perhaps not the most exciting heroes of all, but nonetheless, we have found a rhythm and that is how we feel. in a handful of days we'll be in Pamplona, in Spain, to meet up with Robert and buy some new shoes for Trae. we're halfway through and already nostalgic, even though we're always thinking of home. love to all from this cloud 9, and thanks for all the e-love, PILGRIM J

Camino 1

No longer pending. I shall attempt in to describe the experience I had hiking the Camino de Santiago. First off, we walked 150 km at conservative estimate, so I am tired, but with the help of my trusty journal, I shall attempt to recreate my experience. But how can mere words do justice to the scent of walking through a Spanish Eucalyptus forest in the early morning after a fresh sprinkling of dew? Or, for that matter, the scent of fermenting ...
