        ... our snack, we were descending. I got a few chapters read of a book I brought to read... I have only read when on a plane LOL At SFO, I needed to find the yellow area in the mid level... After claiming our baggage, I managed to find our shuttle just as he was about to leave!!!         ... the Golden Gate Bridge, the trip to Alcatraz, the bus tour through the city) but honestly the best part has been living in the very residential area of Pacific Heights and seeing San Franciscans go about their daily lives. For those who might visit one day, spend an afternoon in the cafes and shops on Fillmore and take the kids to Alta Plaza or Lafayette Park. Wonderful people watching.         ... base. Beds that you sunk into, organised in rows, both of us got top bunks. With it only being 7ish and yet to have eaten we got directed to a local restaurant for dinner. Pacific Catch was just 10 minutes on the corner of Chesnut Street in Marina. I got a grilled Salmon salad, with a Thai influence. The food was amazing!!!         ... was leaving from. The tours were completely sold out until Monday and hundreds of people were queuing for the cruise. There is only one company that actually allows people on Alcatraz so you can imagine how popular it is.

        At 11.50am we boarded our boat and over we went to the Island, also known as ‘The Rock’. The trip across was a worthwhile tour in itself as it offered some amazing views of the city and the bridge.
