... to pay attention. Wow did I ever pay attention. I really was not sure what to expect but it was really strange. First of all we show up and it began an hour after it was supposed to. There were 10 cases that were supposed to be heard by the judge in the morning. Everyone was there. There was no separate court room for anyone. The court room was small and there were files from previous cases all over. They were piled high on ...
Olongapo, Luzon, Philippines karey42... myself into that category as well since I have only been to a handful of GRO bars as well. We started in the American red light district where just like it sounds all of the Americans tend to go. Many of the bars in the area are owned by Americans. I often times feel as if I should constantly apologize on behalf of Americans. However, it really is non of my business what these men are doing there. I am there for the women. So the first bar we go to is a ...
Olongapo, Luzon, Philippines karey42... Ni(2) Cor(corinthians) shi(4) indicates 2Cor. chapter4 related to a verse, ".. treasure in earthen vessel". Senzin means saints in Japanese. We had a sweet time in the fellowhip of life which was very refreshing.
Not often we meet a person leaves you with sweet impression and today we met those kind of people by the Lord's arrangement. we will remember them and pray for them that we run the race together.
... faced the Superman Ride. First you go feet first then head then the other way. It was like a flying fox but you were attached onto the wire. It was a like being an acrobat. First I was scared so we screamed. But it was fun afterwards.
Then we went on the Treeking Adventure. A guide told us that a jungle was a pharmacy and a market. He told us to be careful for snakes, wild boars and poisonous ivy.

... When it wasn't raining it was so hot it was hard to do anything. We often would just sit and sweat through our clothes! However the rain caused more problems. At one point we had to be evacuated from our training site because there was waist deep floods and peace corps did not think we were safe. Nobody else seemed that worried. The Philippinos here are very resiliant. They figure that rain and floods are a part of life and what is the sense of worrying ...
Balanga, Bataan, Philippines karey42Adventure Day: Three After a full night of easy chilling and a good dose of scare for me, it was fantastic that I survived the night sane. Hm... Okay, I'll stop right there and move on. Haha. The day's agenda was to have an early breakfast, cook lunch to grab after the Capones exploration. It all sort of fell into place. The early breakfast was a breakfast at your own pace. I was supposed to join J and R in exploring the place, but as usual, I woke up ...
Subic, Luzon, Philippines savealittle... water, be bitten by insects, fall on my ass, not shower for a day, jump and bathe in a river or slide on mountain walls to get down, well, anything can happen and I can do it all. I can also guarantee that second is treasured. A personal dedication To exploring by starting from my backyard - the Philippines, before elsewhere; using as little money as possible without sacrificing the experience. To live boldly with awe and thoughtfulness to the world.
Subic, Luzon, Philippines savealittle... of the area. We spent the night singing kareoke, drinking San Migel Beer, and dancing our hearts out. It was wonderful evening. I think its time that I touch on the Kareoke situation in the Philippines. Holy ****! Kareoke here is not something that the local bar has once a week. It is not a joke and these people are GOOD! Everyone can sing. Everyone has a kareoke machine at their home and usual knows the number of their favorite song by ...
Subic, Philippines jenai... 10 minutes we were standing at the gate for the LA flight we had missed the day before. We were the last 2 people they let on the plane. I asked the agent about our luggage and he said "get on the plane". I was just glad to be getting out of Hong Kong. Needless to say we did not get our prized window seats on that 12 hour and 45 minute flight to Los Angeles. When we reached LA we stood around the luggage carosel and waited and waited and waited but the luggage never came ...
