    ... gestures. They shouted us traditional Japanese liquor, Shōchū, which we all shot together (whilst shouting "Kampai!", meaning "Cheers!"). Shōchū tastes a lot stronger than Sake, though I'm not sure of its alcohol content. They were so impressed I enjoyed drinking it they bought me more, and called me "Osakihime", which means "Alcohol Princess" !! I think we made some new friends that night, ...

    ... of with rice, pickles and miso. It was quite the feast! We took an hour or so after dinner before heading out for our next bath. It wasn't as good as the place we had been to earlier in the day, with only 1 small inside bath and a small two person tub outside.     ... surroundings. Particularly when washed down with a couple of pints of the "crab" beer that was brewed on-site. After dinner, we went for a bath, while our dinner table was replaced with our beds for the night in our room. The bath house that we visited had a wonderful timber roof and the outside pool was one of the best that we had seen so far - with a huge waterfall spilling the hot natural spring water straight into the bath.     ... nice. There was a few bits I didn't eat but we had a hot soup still heated by a candle so I put my sushi in that and it cooked it perfectly. Noel ate a raw prawn, not sure if you can do that but I'm sure we will find out tomorrow. The crab is massive like the ones in the aquarium yesterday. You get a stick and have to pull the meat out.
