    ... also exceptional. We are just templed out. Dinner on the street again with noodles made with fish paste, fish balls soup, deep fried shrimp rolls (yummmm), a steamed pudding that was savory, deep fried fish sticks and deep fried yams. All that for about C$ 8.
    Off to Alishan tomorrow, and I think we have figured out how and when to get there, should be an adventure.

    HSR - High Speed Rail from Taipei to Kaohsiung. Like Taiwan's bus and metro systems, this inter-city system is excellent.
    And we are discovering there are some pluses to being grey-haired and obviously decrepit - folk offer us the priority seats on public transport! There is half-price for the over 65s, but in most cases this is just for the Taiwanese. They apologise, but we can see the point - they have paid the taxes. Also for museums and other entries.

    ... to sit down and rest everywhere I could. This museum was not crowded at all. It was very crowded when it was first built, our guide told us. Now since there is the new ChiMei museum, this one seemed to have attracted much less attention.

Fanlu Township.  This takes us further back into the country away from the coast to visit the Eternity Suspension Bridge in Alishan mountain.  There was one bridge at the base of the mountain that did not allow for crossing.  Further up the step of the mountain is the Eternity Suspension bridge with the famous Chinese love eternity saying at both ends of the bridge.  Once we walked across the bridge there were more steps taking us up to the ...

    ... After food I was hailed by another group of jolly Taiwanese folk and they 'forced' me to do Karaoke with them! After singing a few cheesy tunes and dancing the cha-cha-cha (?!!)
