Nuremburg, ill-famed for the huge torch-lit, nazi mass rallies in the 1930s and the post-war trials.

well - stupid internet - I already wrote this once and it didn't update so...I hope I can remember. We started this day with a motor coach ride to the Eistla for our transfer. It took about 3 hours along the autobahn which has beautiful scenic views of the Bavarian countryside. Unfortunately I was not feeling so great so I kept falling asleep. ... exactly as I had remembered.

When we returned to the ship in the evening we were welcomed by a German band - enjoy the music.

If anyone I know comes to Germany, I would highly recommend visiting Nuremberg.

Dry and cool, perfect weather for touring. We are only halfway through our River cruise, and we have seen and done so much. Early this morning we crossed the European Continental Divide via a series of 25 high locks, and we now start going downstream into the Main River then the Rhein. ... week long event. Only the Zeppelin Field and one stadium was completed with the congress hall only being half built before the outbreak of WW2. The scale of what was proposed is staggering and what remains is a reminder of those dark times in Germany's history. The museum (or document centre) housed within part of the congress hall was an interesting but disturbing exhibit that we took around three hours to visit. With another visit on the cards at sometime in the future ...
