    On Monday September 29Th, i woke up at 7:34 A.M, which usually doesn't happen. I had jerseys, bags, shoes, cones, socks, basketballs, books... all on the floor waiting to be packed.     Today was a true driving day. We traveled over 500 miles crossing over almost three states. We continued across the panhandle of Texas, through Oklahoma, and across much of Kansas finally stopping at Topeka.

    Most of the pictures were quick, drive by as we traveled. The cross was in Groom, Texas and is advertised as the largest cross in North America. We did run into Clinton, Oklahoma where ...

    ... It looked like one of the semis burned to the ground and the cargo from one of them was spread all over the highway. A car was on its side in the median. One of the truck drivers died in the accident. Fortunately for us, it was in the Eastbound lane. Traffic was backed up for at least 5 miles. We hate to see those kinds of things and luckily we don’t see it very often.

    ... fields where the crops were thriving, and fields where acres of corn was yellow and dried up, presumably from a lack of rain. You can add the occasional farmhouse with red barn and silver silo and you can add the occasional ranch with cows grazing and you can add the occasional oil well, some with hammers pounding dirt and others as motionless as a rock.     ... the customer service is great - enjoyed a swim and a dip the heated pool thing ? Used a full tank of gas today - you have to pre pay which is difficult when you don't know how much it uses !
