      ... before I ever set foot in an 18-wheeler myself. You can bet that I drove extra carefully just so that I wouldn't tarnish his reputation, even from a distance!

      David, like Wally, is the cook in the family. On Saturday, he barbequed humongous pork chops just the way Wally always did them: fully cooked but still juicy inside, and not burnt on the outside. I don't know how he does it, but they were wonderful.

      Today we met Corky and Pam at the Kansas Air Combat Museum at Forbes Field. This museum has an impressive collection of aircraft primarily from WWII and the Korean and Vietnam wars. Our tour guide was a veteran from the Korean and Vietnam Wars and Corky is a Vietnam veteran, so it was fascinating to hear their stories of how various aircraft were used in the wars. Corky even demonstrated how he had to sit on his helmet for backside protection and hold the doorway of ...
