... throughout the day resulted in our trip being canceled. They told us the main ferry boats would still be running, so we decided to chance it (rain was supposed to be near 8AM and 2/3PM), so we left near 8:30AM to walk to the port, so we could catch the mid-day sun. The water sure was rough, even on a large boat (like the jet express we take to the islands in CLE) with ~200 people on it! We were all glad to not be on a small boat at ...

In summary, after coffee at the hotel, and the two serindipitious bathroom experiences, we decided that we just had to stay for lunch !! And lunch continued the excellent experience and at a surprisingly "reasonable" price. Our Maitre'd was most informative and all the food was local... in particular the tomatoes........almost everything on the menu (except the coffee!) ...

The Saturday of our weekend in Southern Italy, we booked an all day boat trip to the island of Capri. For hours, we boated along the coasts of Italy with our captain, and two ladies from Ireland. We even stopped a couple times to take a dip in the Mediterranean! Once we arrived at Capri, we explored the island for a few hours. While I loved the little towns on the island, I think Capri was best viewed from our boat on the ...

... we took a local bus to Anacapri, which is name of the other side of the island at a much higher elevation. It was very beautiful but again, a lot of stores and restaurants were closed due to the off season. It's kind of crazy that it was the "off season" because it was 70 degrees and sunny! We took a ferry back to the port of Naples (not any nicer than the area we stayed in the week before... Hopefully we won't have to go back there again) and a train to ...

Today we went to the beautiful island of Capri just off of the Amalfi Coast of Italy. Capri is a beautiful little island with rock cliff faces and limestone masses that rise up out of the sea. On the island there is also Roman ruins, caves for exploring and of course the famous and highly anticipated blue grotto.

We took a ferry to the island, then boarded another boat for a tour around the island. There is a large limestone mass that ...
