... a length of 2.7 kilometers and a height of 110 meters, it is said to be the largest sand dune in all of Europe.
It was incredible to see and to climb up.
Walking on the beach is hard enough, walking up a huge pile of sand is a challenge, but the view from the top was beautiful!

After spending an hour at the top, walking a good distance across and taking pictures (none of which do justice to the dune) I decided it was time to head back down. Just as I started ...

It's getting a bit ridiculous, but I didn't want a repeat of a couple of days ago, so I chose a post-apocalyptic version of a campground, which was free, to riding in the dark and overpaying at a another. There weren't any obvious open spaces as alternates. Start mileage 66702 After listening to Hayley's story of seeing a wild beast in the night which turned out to be just a big pussy cat owned by one of the campers we had breakfast in La Flotte then said our goodbyes to the campers around us and the camp site Madame and set on our next journey to see Lyn and Lawrence in La Dorat.
