Great Rooms and Pool at the Hard Rock Tampa

This was our first time staying on property and we were not disappointed. Lucky to have the room comped for two nights and a lot of food credit (thanks to my mother who frequents the casino during the winter months!) Check in was quick, easy and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I had expected average 'bar' type food at the Hard Rock Cafe but it was FABULOUS. Had a variety of items from the menu due to the size of our party and everything was great including the cocktails! Two people in my group tried the new Asian restaurant, the Noodle Bar at Jubao Palace, and raved about it. We had a standard room with two queen beds. Very clean, very large and very comfy beds and bedding. Not a big fan of the bathroom area layout. It didn't have a lot of privacy. There is no door to the vanity area (double sinks, large wall mirror) where the shower is (shower has some type of frosted glass.) But I did like the modern decor and again, lots of space. Four people would easily have more than enough room. My niece and I spent one afternoon by the pool. I was a little surprised that more people weren't outside to enjoy the beautiful Florida weather. Almost had the place to ourselves.. Two lounge chairs by the pool, bright sunshine and an attentive cocktail waitress. Great time! As for the gambling, a few of us broke even and only a slight loss for the others. We only played slots and there were several that were actually paying a little thanks to the Bonus Rounds. The trick is to know when to get up and leave! Only one really negative thing that comes to mind is the Valet service. Not sure what the problem is (need more help? more parking areas?) but it didn't seem very efficient. But you could tell the guys were working hard and doing their best. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would love to go back again.

Day 2. Started off in 20% chance of afternoon showers at 730. Then if I would have gone another 20 miles I could have saved a bundle on the hotel, but I was tired and it was getting dark. So still right choice. Wrote off the moonshiner 28 and dragon last night, need to make some time, but promised myself the blue ridge parkway. The ride to the BRP was uneventful. The weather cleared a bit. I went ...

My parents will be there too, visiting from Colorado, so it will be a great trip. First I just have to get through a few more days of work. ...

The next two hours went quickly but someone smoking in the toilet temporarily put the journey in jeopardy and bus lights were put on full blast and all eyes tried to find the perpetrator! The bus driver put out announcements that he would stop at the nearest police station if it did not stop. I am here though... I arrived ...
