... we're from Ohio, which has the best amusement parks in the world. So when we were done with the ferris wheel, we decided we had to go try a couple of the rides.

We first tried the Volare (except Mom), a roller-coaster where you laid down prone. I couldn't believe how fun it was. It was super-fast and flipped us upside down a couple times very unexpectedly. I don't think I'd had that big of an adrenaline rush since the last time I went to Cedar Point in Ohio (about 5 years ...

... there were some very familiar arcs which we recognised immediately as being by the same sculptor who did the huge 27m tall arcs at Gibbs' Farm on the Kaipara. They can be seen on the skyline from SH 16. I didn't know his name so looked it up, French artist Bernar Venet. And then, who do think we saw in the entrance hall of the Palace? Yes the by now ubiquitous Jeff Koons and his Incredible Hulk. He specialises in huge sculptures of familiar images. ...
