    3 years ago when were in Switzerland, we stayed in Brunnen - a village directly on the Vierwaldstatter See. There are many large boats that run on the lake. Ones that you are able to hop on and off of to get to various citys/towns/villages that border the lake.     ... we had a couple of hours to visit the Castle high up on the side of a hill overlooking the town.  Went up there by Funicular Rail - much easier than walking up the steep hill.  Finished the afternoon off with a german wheat beer before back on the bus for the hotel a few kilometres out of town.  Dinner at the hotel.
