The view from the ship of traditional white houses with blue trim was unmistakeable Greek! We took a water taxi from the ship to Mykonos to walk around town and enjoy the picture-postcard views. ... outside the front door where the toilet and hand basin are and I wonder if they have showers? The ones we can see into don't!

We went down to the local beach about five minutes away for a swim as it was hot and sunny and the forecast for the next few days is not so great!

There are more tourists around here than in Batsi! So a nice vibe out at night for our souvlaki dinner near the water.

... to come we had imagined that it would be very quiet with the beach bars & restaurants closed but were very surprised to find that most places were still open and we made a mental checklist of where we wanted to come back to.We also took our first test of the water and were shocked at how cold it seemed to be, though the bright day out of the water quickly chased off any chill.
From the beach we retreated back to our hotel to spend the rest of the day ...

Thunder rolled and lightening lit up the sky and we made it back to the ship just in time! My word did it bucket down and many a drenched and cold tourist was glad of warm soup for tea!

Hot shower and an early night for me after watching the storm rage.....
