We decided to take today as a recovery day so we slept in a little and went for a leisurely breakfast before heading out from our hotel. We were able to walk to all of our destinations today. Our first stop was the Hakata Machiya Folk Museum. This museum introduces the daily life and culture of Fukuoka City during the Meiji and Taisho periods. Craft products and souvenirs such as Hakata Ori (folk woven textile) and Hakata dolls were on sale. Our next stop ...

... to spot the ash cloud over the active volcano, Sakura-jima. No luck. It looked like there was a permanent cloud on the mountain peak I don't think that is the ash cloud.

We changed trains to the Shinpei #2, yet another old diesel engine train. We went from Yoshimatsu to Hitoyoshi. We had a bit more time there but only just. Eel was a specialty dish in this area. Owen had said that if anyone had wanted to try it, they ...

... it for rain protection purposes). But I looked liked I was sword fighting an imaginary foe. So I stopped and pretended they weren't there . Anyway. I get to the train station where the staff practically know me by name, flash my magic pass and get on the train. I am gutted to find myself in what I assume in the typhoon. I try with the umbrella but it soon gives ups the directions to the theatre are good. It helps that there are cats signs everywhere. ...
