It was a lovely fishing village within a walled town attached to one of the best preserved castles in the U.K. We stayed at another great B&B and had a wonderful time crawling all over Conwy Castle and walking the walls on our first day. We also got tour an ancient merchants house and took a wonderful walk up the coast to the beach! It was definitely not swim suit season! Peter bought some Welsh Scotch (which he says is ...

Another travelling day! After another very filling breakfast, I packed up, checked out of my guest house and made my way to Llandudno train station. I had a little bit of a wait before my train, but I much prefer that over being late and having to run.

My first train of the day was on the Conwy Valley Line, which runs through the heart of the Snowdonia region to the slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog. The trip takes about an hour and a half, but there's ...

... to find something for dinner. The town here reminds me a lot of Innisfail of a nighttime - by 6pm the place is pretty much deserted!

Tomorrow I'm moving on again, catching the Conwy Valley train line down to Blaenau Ffestiniog for a couple of ours or so, and then on to Porthmadog. I just hope there's somewhere in Blaenau Ffestiniog to store my backpack, otherwise it'll be a pain to lug that around the whole time!
