Day 1 in Stockholm

... Still it was better than a walk in the rain not knowing where we were going.

We got up and walked into the city centre of course in the rain.

We had a quick look around and headed out to the ABBA Museum. This is also the Swedish Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame but that only takes up a small part.

We wandered around for a few hours.It's a very good museum with lots of interactive displays.

When we arrived we were met by friends and taken to the house where we were staying. This is indeed a lovely house with a stunning view across open farmland. The journey took about an hour and we arrived at about 10pm.

Last full day with the Swedes

... bar (with more free drinks!) and just chilled watching the footy, the Swedes are big on the premier league. Bumped into a few lads from Belgium on the night who are in a circus, which was hilarious when the were ****** and swinging round scaffolding like ninjas! Good craic though and always nice to meet new people from all over the world as I travel ...

Settling in: Cirkor, NMT, geocaching & the zoo!

... br> Friday we headed back into Stockholm & off to visit Skansen, an open air museum & zoo (see pictures at end of blog). We enjoyed seeing all the animals, the gorgeous views from the top of the hill & all the old buildings that had been transported to Skansen from all around Sweden.

... The narrow alleyways, only a few metres wide, are lined with restaurants, bakeries and little shops.

"Interesting fact on Sweden # 04: In Sweden anyone can camp anywhere for a few days at a time for free as long as you aren't in a place which causes a disturbance. So you're allowed to put your tent on someone's property, probably not at the front of the house but down the side out of the way is fine."
