This morning we drove through Slovenia's only National Park. The park covers a few mountains near the Slovenia, Italy, and Austria borders. The road over the mountain contains 50 switchbacks/hairpin turns; that doesn't count other turns, just the severe ones! Grant, had the pleasure of driving with other drivers who like to use both lanes, along with motorcycles, ...

And just to top our day off, we didn’t even have a sunset! We had been hopeful but no, it decided to be cloudy.

Damn those church bells, maybe we should have just left them alone! ...

Majestic Lake Bled

... to pay at least double for on top of our extortionate rail passes. It simply just wasn't worth the money.

And so came the happy coincidence that Mattijs and I spent two days in the majestically beautiful, Lake Bled.

Of course we had seen photos of the place online, the small island with the church spire and trees in the middle of a perfectly blue lake but nothing quite prepares you for the moment you see Bled from the lakeside.
