... We drove to Skocjan Caves which was amazing!! and Chris drove stick shift very successfully- woohoo! Slovenia is a really underrated country- it is absolutely stunning and the people are just so kind! This may be my favorite place now on our trip. ... There is a church which was modified in the 16c but where there has been a church for 1000 years, a bridge and a few hotels. However, we pass this and go along the lake to the cable car station. There is a choice between this or staying on the coach to go to a waterfall and walking up 600 steps, so all but 5 people opt for the ski lift. ... but as we got a good deal we expected that, we have a pleasant balcony overlooking next doors trees and crazy golf so it is perfectly adequate. Our only gripe is that the lake rooms not only have a stunning view, they are also the only rooms with air con! we ask for a fan and get it, no chance of a move the hotel is full, so hopefully it won't be too hot.
