We began our adventure through the Swiss Alps by purchasing a vignette from the gas station just inside the border. Apparently, this is how the government pays for its highway maintenance. Everyone pays for a 14-month road tax...even if you're a tourist passing through for just a few days.

We affixed our sticker and drove a short way down the highway where we parked in Geneva. The city is quite large and looks like any modern city. With ...

... The miniature train awaited outside and our three got the last seats in the caboose. This train has a loud whistle and steam that comes out in both directions. There was no room for one of our adults and Corbin was quite worried he would not be able to keep Wyatt in his seat, but that little smiling and waving cousin was not about to exit the train until we took him out.

Bought a new white jacket and found out that a boy, about a year old than me lives in the apartment up stairs. I need to further investigate the matter. Went really touristy and got brochures and took photos at things the locals don't even notice anymore. ...

... was a futile effort. So it was on to the cable car for the long ride down. Once again Ollie sympathised with my fear of heights by jumping up and down inside the car. We made our way down and got off at the first stop, about half way down the mountain. They had the world's longest steel toboggan (a bit like a luge but for normal unco non-athletes). We were the first people to go on after lunch and despite my fears (god I have been annoying on this trip), ...

... I never actually realized how large lake luzern was until you see it from this high up. The photos we took did not do it justice at all. From frakmuntegg we then transferred onto an serial cableway which took us up to the top at Pilatus klum to talking 7000ft. We spent a good few hours exploring around here climbing rock stairs to lookout points higher up, struggling of course, but living the views. Eating lunch up here cost us an arm and a leg but was awesome schnitzel ...
