Another glorious day weather wise, a high of 28c predicted and the morning sun augurs well. We set off early to walk along the lakeside whilst it is still fairly cool and reach the far end of the lake after a steady 30 minutes. We walk as far as Vila Bled which Tito used as his holiday villa back in the day. It is being readied for a flower festival so we don't visit but sit at a lakeside cafe for a surprisingly good coffee whilst watching the "pletna" boats. ...
Our first full day, so after an OK buffet breakfast we walk the 3 minutes along the promenade to where the tourist bus to Vintgar Gorge and Bled Castle leaves. The bus runs once a day at 10am getting to the gorge at 10.30 where it waits and returns at 12.30. It costs €2.30 to the gorge or €1.80 to the castle.
