We woke from our kind of sleep to stunning views from the windows as the train neared Villach and the Austrian Alps. Just got the news that my niece in Italy had her baby today, so lots of celebrations going on. We're planning to return to Germany and Austria next year, and a side trip to Italy will be in order. We're hoping to get a longer visa for me next March from the German Consulate, so we won't run up against the problem again.
