Back on the train for a 2:45 hour trip to Salzburg..approx 290 kms south/ west of Vienna..thank heavens for the heated compartments again as the temp dropped to minus seven! Once again as day dawned the snow showed it's thickness.. and did not let up in Salzburg all day. The usual wander/ amble to the chosen accommodation was replaced by taxi....

Our campsite was a short walk from the bus stop which took us in to the centre of town. There was a light misty rain which made everything rather grey, but we set off on our walking tour anyways. We started off in a square with a statue of Mozart. A short walk away was a much larger square with a huge fountain that was being power-washed.
